The Local Advantage is a strategic business support initiative developed to meet the evolving needs of entrepreneurs and businesses owners across Peterborough County.  Delivered by Peterborough County's Economic Development and Tourism team - in collaboration with Township staff, Community Futures Peterborough, and the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce, this program connects businesses with timely resources, expert insights, and collaborative networks to help navigate challenges and unlock growth opportunities.

The Local Advantage is a key component of Peterborough County’s broader “hub and spoke” model, a framework designed to ensure accessible, consistent, and high-quality support for businesses throughout Peterborough County. At the center of this initiative is the Information Hub in Lakefield, which serves as a central resource, integrating expertise from Economic Development, Tourism, and other business support services. The Local Advantage represents one of the many 'spokes' extending this support to every corner of the County.
